Captain Name: Rich Jones Nationality: American Number of Crew: 5

Rich Jones (USA)
Captain
Capt Rich is a native Floridian who has been cruising and fishing the waters of South Florida and the Bahamas as far back as he can remember. Having always had a strong calling for the water, Rich joined the US Navy at the age of 18 and spent the next 6 years serving his country while experiencing ports-of-calls all over the world.

After the Navy, Rich thought his career might take a different path as he started work in the telecommunications industry. Once he realized that the oceans call never quite subsides, he decided to return to his hometown of Deerfield Beach and took the position as 1st Mate onboard a sailing catamaran. While working onboard, Rich quickly realized his natural ability was that of a captain. He took his passion for the sea and made that his career.

Capt Rich has been a Professional Licensed Captain since 2002. He has held a variety of positions in the industry, ranging from the before mentioned sailboat captain, to a commercial towing and salvage captain, to the Senior Corporate Captain for Ferretti Group USA. During his career, Capt Rich has continuously advanced his professional education and currently holds his USCG 200/500 GT Masters with STCW 95 and Medical First Aid Provider.

Capt Rich has worked for the owner of M/Y Free Spirit since 2012, and onboard the Mangusta Free Spirit since it’s purchase in 2016. He has cruised the vessel extensively throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Cuba, and Mexico.
When Capt Rich isn’t onboard M/Y Free Spirit you can find him with his family. He enjoys traveling, cooking, water sports, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Daniela Boia (Romainan)
Stewardess
Daniela was born and raised in Transylvania, Romania. After finishing her studies in Public Relations, she realized how much more of the world she wanted to see so she decided to join the cruise line industry. Daniela spent 8 years on cruise ships, sightseeing around the globe and working up the ranks in the Food and Beverage department. On a vacation to South Florida she fell in love with a Cuban (no, just joking!) she means the weather; Daniela fell in love with the South Florida weather and never left!

She found her way into the yachting industry and quickly found herself splitting her time between Miami, the Bahamas and New York as a stewardess before running a fleet program as Personal Assistant and Chief Stewardess.

Daniela left behind her position in the fleet when she was offered the opportunity to be a part of a Miami Restauranteurs Group and did not hesitate to take it! She was part of successful local restaurants such as Seaspice, River yacht Club and Dashi.

In the past three years, Daniela has opened her own catering company offering her private Chef and Event Planning services to the domestic and yachting industry.

In her free time, Daniela loves to swim and paddleboard in the ocean.
